The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has called up 20 players to comprise the squad for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
The Under-22 side will face Indonesia, hosts Cambodia, Timor-Leste, and Myanmar in Group A beginning this Saturday 29 April 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The head coach is former Philippine Men’s National Team captain and defender Robert Gier and his assistants are Christopher Pedimonte, Arvin Soliman, and goalkeeping coach Noel Marcaida. PFF Technical Director Stewart Hall is also part of the team delegation.
“The preparations have gone really well and the players and staff have worked incredibly hard to maximize the limited time we had to prepare,” said Gier. “We are now all focused on the challenge ahead of us. Every game will be tough, especially our opening game against Indonesia, but we are here to compete and represent the country in a positive way both on and off the pitch.”
The team conducted an initial training camp at Rizal Memorial Football Stadium las 16-20 April 2023 before continuing with their final preparations in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 21-27 April 2023.
