The Philippine Women’s National Team will play an unofficial closed training match against Sweden on July 17 in Wellington, New Zealand.
It will be the last training match for the Filipinas before they see action in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
Sweden is currently ranked No. 3 in the world, while the Philippines is at its highest ranking of No. 46.
The Filipinas, who are currently in Sydney, Australia for their preparation camp kick off their historic campaign against Switzerland in Dunedin, on July 21.
They will also travel to Wellington for the match against host New Zealand on July 25, before taking on Norway on July 30 in their final group match.
“We thank our friends from the Swedish Football Association for working with us in making this match happen,” said PFF general secretary Atty Edwin Gastanes. “It’s a great opportunity for our Filipinas to test themselves against a world class team before the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”
