Stallion FC delivered the first shock result of the PFF U19 Boys National Championship 2023 First Division after an upset 3-1 win over defending champions Negros Occidental FA last Friday 23 June 2023 at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona Cavite.
NOFA’s Elijah Ballesteros opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but a quick barrage from Stallion from Shaun Saludez (23’ and 30’) and Ryen Lim (24’) turned the tide in favor of the horsemen as they collected their second win in Group A.
National Capital Region FA continued from where they left off last time out with their second consecutive 7-0 win, this time against Mindoro Marinduque Romblon Palawan FA. Selwyn Mamon netted a hat-trick, while Rodrigo Marinas Lance Locsin, Dominic Tom, and James Azur added gloss to the score line.
The other Group A match saw Southeast Luzon Masbate RFA’s Edgar Aban fire four goals past Laguna FA in a 4-0 win.
Group B saw Central Visayas FA and Panay FA solidify their lead as the top two teams in Group B.
Central Visayas had to bank on a fight back to beat Zamboanga del Norte Dipolog FA after Ramil Bation opened the scoring for Zamboanga. Theo Libarnes’ brace and Nathan Pumareja’s goal completed the fight back for the Cebu based side.
Panay also showed stamped their class with a 5-1 win over Camiguin Misamis Oriental FA. Jhon Calmada score two goals while Francis Botavara, Karlo Lustan, Michael Celiz provided the much needed goals for Panay.
Davao South RFA and SOCSARGEN RFA settled for a 1-1 draw in the third Group B match. Roent Sia netted for Davao in the sixth minute, but Ody Pusoc equalized in the 45th minute.
