The third day of the PFF U19 Boys National Championship – First Division National Group Stage produced several shock that affected the race to the final round!
Group A’s first match saw Laguna FA drawing Mindoro Marinduque Romblon Palawan FA, 1-1.
It was followed by a thrilling encounter between unbeaten sides National Capital Region FA and Stallion FC. Stallion took the lead midway in the first half from Jared Peña, but NCR struck back late in the first half to draw level. NCR completed the turnaround with around ten minutes left in the match to collect the three points and take the solo lead in Group A.
Southeast Luzon Masbate RFA produced the biggest upset of the night, inflicting a 2-0 win over Negros Occidental FA to put the defending champions on the brink of elimination.
Over in Cebu City, Panay FA yielded to Davao-South RFA, 0-1 in the opening match. Matthaeus Lim scored the marginal goal in the 74th minute to put Davao on the board.
Central Visayas FA also failed to capitalize on the chance to widen their lead in Group B after a 1-1 draw against South Cotabato Sarangani Gen. Santos City RFA.
Zamboanga del Norte Dipolog FA and Camiguin Misamis Oriental FA battled to an entertaining 2-2 draw to share the points in Group B.
