Manila Digger FC returned to the top of the standings after defeating Far Eastern University, 1-0, in Sunday’s PFF Women’s League sponsored by Coca-Cola at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
Mea Bernal scored the marginal goal in the 30th minute to put Manila Digger in first place with 19 points after eight matches played. FEU are not far behind in second place with 16 points, and holding a slim lead on goal difference.
De La Salle University also moved up a spot in the standings after defeating the University of the Philippines, 5-0, in the opening kickoff.
Angelica Teves extended her goal tally to 14 goals with two goals in the 22nd and 42nd minutes. Jan Jumawan (19’), Jelena Pido (53’), and skipper Alisha del Campo (55’) added gloss to the scoreline for the Green Archers, who now sit in third, just behind FEU on goal difference.
