PFF president John Gutierrez congratulates Philippine Women’s National Team (PWNT) goalkeeper Inna Palacios after she was elected as one of the members of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Athletes Commission during its elections today 27 January 2024 at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
Gutierrez said: “On behalf of the Philippine Football Federation, we congratulate Philippine Women’s National Team player Inna Palacios on her election as one of the members of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Athletes Commission. As a member of the history-making Filipinas, Inna has shown discipline and dedication in representing the country in the international stage. Through her role at the POC Athletes Commission, the PFF believes that Inna will continue to exhibit integrity and professionalism in ensuring that the best interests of her fellow national athletes are always upheld.”
Palacios made her PWNT debut in 2011 and became a regular fixture in the Filipinas squad, which made history in recent years by qualifying in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. She was also part of the squad that won the bronze medal in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam, and a winners medal in the AFF Women’s Championship in 2022.
