Philippine Men’s National Team Captain Rob Gier today announced his retirement from professional football.
The Philippine Football Federation commended him for the leadership and unwavering dedication and inspiration he has given to his team.
“We congratulate him for a job well done. He played a critical role in the success of the team that has helped popularize football in the country. He will always serve as a role model to many Filipino footballers, especially the young who aspire to play for the country.” said PFF President Mariano Araneta.
Rob Gier played with the National Men’s Team from 2009 to 2015 and served as Team Captain. He also assisted the coaching staff with technical and scouting reports. He will be taking his UEFA B license course this May in Northern Ireland.
