The PFF Women’s League showed the competitiveness of the teams as two of the in form teams were finally stopped last weekend.
Outkast FC started the weekend with a convincing 7-0 win over The Younghusband Football Academy women’s team in the 8:00 AM kick off last Saturday, 17 June 2017. Ane Ugarte netted a hat-trick for Outkast which also saw players Andrea Tiongson, Lindsay Whaley, and Sharmaine Siaotong finding the back of the net.
In Saturday’s second match, both Far Eastern University and Hiraya FC failed to break the deadlock as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Sunday’s matches saw the University of Santo Tomas inflict a 4-1 win over Outkast FC. Outkast were already ahead from an early Victoria Maniquis goal, but players Jan Cleofe, Hazel Lustan, and Charisa Lemoran found their scoring touch to turn around the match.
The last match of the weekend saw Ateneo de Manila University terminate Green Archers United’s three-game winning streak in a 1-1 draw. National team forward Alisha Del Campo put her team ahead in the 18th minute. However Ateneo captain Camille Rodriguez levelled things in the 51st minute to hand Ateneo a vital point in their return match in the Women’s League.
