2017 PFL champions Ceres Negros FC look to extend their lead at the top of Group F against a familiar foe in Home United on Tuesday 27 February 2018 at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
Ceres opened their AFC Cup campaign with a resounding 9-0 win over Cambodian side Boeung Ket Angkor last 13 February at the Pana-ad Park and Football Stadium in Bacolod City.
Going to their second Group F match, Ceres head coach Risto Vidakovic expects a tough match against the same team they defeated in the AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal final last year.
“What we did last year, we have to forget. We’re in a new competition and we need to prove who we are,” said Vidakovic. “Home United need the points just like us and it will be a big fight tomorrow.”
Ceres captain Martin Steuble admits that their opening day win boosted the team’s confidence, but they are not discounting Home United’s chances.
“The spirit of the team is very high and full of confidence,” said Steuble. “Home United are still competitive. We need to have the right mindset to win tomorrow.”
