With only one point in their first two AFC Cup fixtures, Global Cebu FC faces a challenging task against Yangon United when they play on Wednesday 7 March 2018 at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
Global collected their first point of the tournament after a 1-1 draw against Bali United last week. With a clash against the top team in Group G looming, coach Marjo Allado expects that they can finally deliver their first win in the tournament.
“It’s a good match-up with Yangon United,” said Allado. “We have good players that can make a difference in the game. We are here to fight for the three points.”
Goalkeeper and captain Patrick Deyto will be playing against a team from Myanmar for the third time and he expects that Yangon United will put up a fight for the three points.
“Yangon is number one in the group and we’re expecting a difficult game,” said Deyto. “It’s important for us to win the game to get us back in contention. Three points will be big for us.”
