The Philippine Men’s Under-19 Team ended their AFF U19 Championship group stage run following a 7-2 loss to Laos last Monday 9 July 2018 at the Joko Samudro Stadium.
Fidel Tacardon scored the two goals for the Philippines in the 16th and 78th minutes.
The Philippines, which is coached by PFF Head of Youth Development Reiji Hirata, finished Group A in fifth place with 3 points with a record of 1 win and 4 losses.
“We thank the Philippine Men’s Under-19 Team, and the coaching staff led by head coach Reiji Hirata, for their courageous effort in the AFF U19 Championship,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “The team has picked up a lot of key learnings in the tournament which will help them nurture as up and coming national team players.”
