The Philippines Under-16 National Team succumbed to an 8-0 defeat to Indonesia in the opening match of the AFF U16 Championship 2018 at the Delta Sidoarjo Stadium in Surabaya, Indonesia.
The host team netted 3 goals in the first half and added 5 more in the first half, but the Philippines showed grit throughout the match.
The Philippines, led by head coach Reiji Hirata, will look to gain ground in the tournament as they face Cambodia on Tuesday 31 July 2018 at the Joko Samudro Stadium.
