The journey of the 33 participating teams from all over the country begin Saturday 29 June 2019 as the PFF U15 Boys National Championship Regional Group Stage kicks off in 7 venues across the Philippines.
Group B begin the festivities with team from Cavite FA facing team from NCR FA at the Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus Cavite.
Meanwhile in the Bicol Region, three matches are on tap in Group D as team from RFA of Camarines Norte battle a team from Central Bicol RFA at ECO Field in Daet, Camarines Norte. Teams from Legazpi-Albay RFA and Federated FA of Masbate meet in a back-to-back matches this weekend at the Malilipot High School in Albay.
Only the top team from each of the four groups in Luzon will advance to the National Championship Round.
Group E in Visayas promises an action-packed affair. Team from Central Visayas RFA face a team from Negros Occidental FA at the Cebu City Sports Complex in the group opener.
With the top two teams from Group E qualifying to the next round, both Central Visayas head coach John Ferrer and Negros Occidental head coach Ronald Treyes shared their thoughts on their first match.
“We consider NOFA team as one of the top teams in Group E together with team from Central Visayas,” said Ferrer. “However, we are much more excited to play as it will be the way our U15 team will show case their talents in this tournament. I consider this match as the ‘El Clasico’ in Group E.
“The PFF U15 Boys National Championship will help our Under-15 players to compete in a national competition in preparation for international tournaments,” said Treyes. “The tournament will help strengthen our grassroots program.”
Over in Mindanao, Group F will feature Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-tawi RFA team playing against a team from Zamboanga del Norte – Dipolog RFA this Saturday at Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
Lastly, Group H will see a team from Maguindanao taking on stalwarts from Mount Apo RFA at Notre Dame University in Cotabato City, Maguindanao. Teams from South Cotabato – Sarangani – Gen. Santos City RFA and Sultan Kudarat RFA will play against the other at the South Cotabato Sports Complex in Koronadal, South Cotabato.
The top team from each group and the best second placed team in Mindanao will move on to the National Championship Round.
