PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes was appointed by the Philippine Olympic Committee as its Secretary General.
The POC Board confirmed the appointment during its first Board Meeting last Thursday 8 August 2019.
Gastanes was formally introduced as POC Secretary General during the POC general assembly held today 13 August 2019 in Manila.
“Sports in the Philippines is in an inspiring state,” said Gastanes, who has served as PFF general secretary since 2013. “As I assume the post of POC Secretary General, I hope to contribute in pursuing the declared objectives of the POC with haste and dedication as well help promote unity by all stakeholders as we brace for both the 30th Southeast Asian Games this November and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games next year.”
Gastanes has been an active figure in the world of football. Apart from being the general secretary of PFF, he has served as member of the AFC Legal Committee from 2015 to 2019 and again for the term 2019-2023. He also served as Chairperson of the ad-hoc AFC Electoral Committee during the 26th AFC Congress in 2015.
