Homegrown talents Jovin Bedic and Eric Giganto inspired Kaya FC-Iloilo to a 2-0 win over Myanmar side Shan United in their AFC Cup 2020 Group H opener yesterday, 12 February 2020, at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
Substitute Arnel Amita, who made his entry in the 65th minute, also proved pivotal for the PFL side due to his involvement in the two goals.
The midfielder won a penalty with less than 20 minutes left in the match that led to Bedic’s opener in the 74th minute. Again, Amita made his presence on the pitch by providing the insurance goal for Giganto to score in the 85th minute, ensuring the three points.
Kaya FC-Iloilo’s campaign continues with a home match against Singaporean side Tampines Rovers on 26 February 2020 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
