Philippines Football League champions United City FC were humbled by Korean side Daegu FC after a 0-7 defeat in the AFC Champions League Group I last night at the Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
United City started the match strong but a defensive mishap in the 23rd minute gave Daegu the lead.
Mike Ott almost drew level for United City at the half-hour mark but could only send his header wide.
Two goals from the Korean side late in the first half handed United City a 0-3 disadvantage in the half before adding gloss to the scoreline with four goals in the second half to put United City in the bottom half of Group I, level with Beijing FC with 1 point and the same goal differential.
United City next battle J League 1 side Kawasaki Frontale on Friday, 02 July 2021.
