The country’s AFC Youth Social Responsibility Ambassadors organized their second webinar, entitled “Inspiring Responsible Thinking” last 14 July 2021.
This was the second webinar conducted by AFC ambassadors Cian Galsim, Rae Tolentino, and Mikaela Villacin, organized together with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF). The webinar is also part of the Aurora Ambassador’s Workshop Series where the ambassadors serve as role models to the participants with the goal of developing for an ethical and sustainable society in the future.
The webinar was attended by over 50 youth players from the PFF Member Associations.
During the webinar, the ambassadors discussed the relationship between basic human needs and global sustainability trends that can be applied by the youth in their respective communities.
“We understand that doing things that can help foster basic human needs and sustainability trends in our communities can pose a challenge,” said Galsim. “But through the simple act of being responsible in our areas, it will not be impossible to exhibit positive change.”
Villacin took note of the participants’ willingness to present change through sustainability.
“The participants had the potential of starting the change we all aim for,” said Villacin. “With their knowledge on sustainability, they showed how willing they are to start the change.”
Tolentino also understands that the webinar provided opportunities for the youth to grow into responsible citizens by creating sustainable trends in their areas.
“Change always starts within us, taking that small step towards something great,” added Tolentino. “Opportunities are given to the youth which allows them to engage and learn more about their communities.”
The Ambassador Workshops are designed by youth aged 16-17 who have completed Aurora’s eGoal Programme. For more information on the Aurora eGoal Programme, please visit https://aurora.org.jo/egoal/.
