The Philippine Men’s National Team were drawn against familiar oppositions following the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 draw ceremony held last Tuesday, August 30 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Four-time semifinalists since 2010, the Azkals will face defending and six-time champions Thailand, last year’s finalists Indonesia, Cambodia, and the Qualifying Round winner between Brunei Darussalam and Timor-Leste in Group A. Meanwhile Group B comprises of Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, and Laos.
The top two teams at the end of the group stages will qualify for the knockout stages.
PFF president Mariano Araneta, Jr. was among the dignitaries that attended the draw ceremony together with other AFF officials.
