Philippine Football Federation president Mariano Araneta, Jr. and general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes made a courtesy visit to newly appointed Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Jose Emmanuel Eala Wednesday morning, 05 October 2022, at the PSC Chairman’s office at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
Both organizations exchanged insights on the current sporting development programs and how PFF and PSC can help one another in working for the continuous growth of sports in the Philippines.
Understandably, both parties emphasized the importance of grassroots and youth development through the staging of local competitions to increase the number of youth players actively engaged in sports.
Chairman Eala was also briefed by PFF officials on the preparations being made by the Philippine Women’s National Team, known as the “Filipinas” for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Australia and New Zealand. It will be recalled that the Philippines qualified for the very first time in history to the 2023 edition of the Women’s World Cup after the team’s semi0final finish in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 held last 20 January until 06 February 2022 in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune, India.
Also in attendance during the PFF courtesy call was PSC Executive Director Atty. Guillermo Iroy, jr.
