Far Eastern University and Tuloy FC maintain their hold of second and third place respectively as both team asserted themselves in Wednesday’s PFF Women’s Cup action at PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
Tuloy FC ran riot past Stallion Laguna FC, 7-0 in Wednesday’s opener. Louraine Evangelista netted a hat-trick in the 41st, 45th, and 56th minutes with Jenny Perez (15’, 26’), Jonalyn Lucban (33’), and Jade Jalique (38’) also contributing to the scoreline.
The result put Tuloy level on points with leaders University of the Philippines and second placed FEU.
FEU also inched closer to the top spot after walloping Ateneo de Manila University, 5-0, in the second match.
Fresh from a seven-goal outburst last weekend, FEU forward Dionesa Tolentin continued from where she left off, with another hat-trick in the 22nd, 60th, and 63rd minutes to put her in prime position for the top goalscorer plum with 10 goals this season.
Carmela Altiche (6’) and substitute Elna Bongol (88’) added gloss to the rout as FEU tightened its hold in second place, only behind leaders UP on goal difference.
