The Philippine Football Federation joins the Asian football community in mourning the loss of AFC Vice President and FIFA Council Member, Saoud A. Aziz M A Al-Mohannadi, who passed away last Tuesday, 10 January 2023.
Mr. Al-Mohannadi was one of Asian football’s notable stakeholders having served as AFC Vice President and FIFA Council Member since 2019.
In addition, he also served as Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the AFC Asian Cup in 2019 held in United Arab Emirates as well as Vice President of Qatar Football Association (QFA).
“Saoud Al-Mohannadi was a dear friend and an excellent ambassador of football,” said PFF president Mariano Araneta, Jr. “We lost a dedicated football official who has made a significant impact in the development of Asian football. We will miss him dearly.”
“His contributions to football were immense and we will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Qatar Football Association and his family and loved ones,” added PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes.
