The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) congratulates PFF Medical Committee Chairperson Dr. Randolph Molo and PFF Physiotherapist and Safety Officer Walfred Javier were both feted by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) during the AFC Medical Awards held in Doha, Qatar last 06 March 2023.
Both Molo and Javier were recipients of the AFC Distinguished Service Award Bronze in recognition of their efforts in uplifting the standards as members of the football medical community
Dr. Molo is a seasoned medical officer having been appointed in numerous international competitions conducted here and in abroad. Among his highest accolades was his appointment as Medical Officer during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.
“Heartfelt thanks to the Asian Football Confederation for the recognition and our Distinguished Service Award in Football Medicine,” said Molo in a statement he posted online.
Meanwhile, Javier first started out as physiotherapist for the Philippine Men’s National Team in 2009 and went on to be part of the team when it competed in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019. He also went on to be the physiotherapist for Philippines Football League clubs Global FC, Ceres-Negros FC, and United City FC, having been part of championship winning sides for the latter two clubs.
“I would like to thank Asian Football Confederation for this recognition. Being a Physiotherapist helped me meet mentors, friends and gained new family,” said Javier. “To PFF, teams, managements, coaches, PT’s, doctors and players thank you for the trust. I have learned from the best teacher of all and will continue learning every step I take. And I will continue sharing the knowledge I’ve gained thru out this years.”
The awards ceremony served as the conclusion to the 7th AFC Medical Conference held in Doha, Qatar from 02-06 March 2023.
