Negros Occidental FC, Stallion FC, and Central Visayas FA scored big wins in the penultimate day of the PFF U19 Boys National Championship last Tuesday 27 June 2023 at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite and Dynamic Herb Sports Complex in Talisay, Cebu.
Defending champions Negros Occidental bounced back from their two game slump in style with a 6-0 hammering of winless Mindoro Marinduque Romblon Palawan RFA in the first match in Group A.
Rohderick Rodriguez lead NOFA with a hat-trick in the 55th, 71st, and 72nd minutes while Elijah Ballesteros netted a brace in the 35th and 90th minutes with Ishmael Parochel Jr adding a goal to the scoreline.
Stallion FC also strengthened its chances of advancing to the final round with a 6-0 win over Southeast Luzon Masbate RFA. Joaquin Collo broke the deadlock in the 41st minute and it was Stallion all throughout with five goals in the second half from Ryen Lim (52’), Jared Peña (56’), Andrei Gonzales (66’, 70’), and Raphael Aljama.
National Capital Region maintained its perfect record with 12 points after besting Laguna FA, 1-0, in the third group A match from Vincemzo Solidum’s 48th minute winner.
Over in Group B, Central Visayas FA walloped Camiguin Misamis Oriental FA with a 7-0 scoreline. Theo Libarnes led CVFA with a hat-trick in the second, 23rd, and 53rd minutes, while Francis Vercide netted a brace in the 43rd and 45th minutes. Edgar Paredes (27’) and Simon Del Campo (88’) rounded up the result for CVFA who now has 10 points in Group B.
Davao-South RFA edged Zamboanga del Norte Dipolog FA after a 2-1 win in the second match. Substitutes Uriel Dalapo and Roent Sia led the way for Davao scoring in the 62nd and 65th minutes. Ramil Bation III netted the consolation goal for ZANDIFA in the 71st minute.
Panay FA banked on a third minute goal from Jhon Calmada to beat South Cotabato Sarangani Gen. Santos City RFA, 1-0, to go up to second place with nine points.
