In their first ever meeting in the women’s top flight, Kaya FC-Iloilo came away with a 2-1 win over three-time champions De La Salle University in the PFF Women’s League, Saturday 29 July 2023 at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
First half goals from Shelah Cadag (30’) and Sheen Ramores (45+2’) gave Kaya the half-time lead. However substitute Maegan Alforque trimmed the lead in the 57th minute. Kaya, however held on to preserve the win against La Salle.
Saturday’s other match saw Candida Quarshie score five unanswered goals as Manila Digger won over Manila Nomads, 5-0.
Quarshie scored in the 25th, 37th, 51st, 70th, and 87th minutes en route to the win.
