The Philippine Women’s National Team were humbled by a Finland side that came away with a 4-0 win last Wednesday at the Pinatar Arena in San Pedro del Pinatar in Murcia, Spain.
The Filipinas started the match with a retooled lineup with Gianna Sahirul making her first international appearance.
However, Finland took the lead in the 24th minute as Katariina Kosola fired a low shot that went past Olivia McDaniel.
Eva Nyström doubled the lead four minutes later with a header off Olga Ahtinen’s corner until Oona Sevenius added a third goal two minutes before half-time.
Despite the entry of Sarina Bolden at the half, Finland added fourth goal in the 72nd minute from a Vilma Koivisto tap-in.
The friendly match also saw the debuts of Katana Norman and Alexa Pino, along with the return of Dionesa Tolentin to the squad.
The Philippines will face Scotland in the Pinatar Cup on Saturday.
