The Under-17 Philippines Women’s National Team (U17 PWNT) are competing in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Indonesia 2024 to be held in the city of Gianyar Regency in Indonesia from May 6 to 19, 2024.
Our PWNT U-17 will face host Indonesia on May 6 at Kapten Wayan Dipta Stadium at 7 pm. On May 9, the Filipinas will go against North Korea at the Bali United Training Center at 4 pm. Their third qualifying match will be versus South Korea at 4 pm, also at Bali United Training Center, on May 12. All times are in PH time.
Preparation for the AFC U-17 had been ongoing since September 23 when the Filipinas had a training camp in Pinatar, Spain, where they faced opponents from England and Sweden. Last March 21-23, they had a local training camp at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. Talent identification camps were conducted in Spain, the US and Manila.
PFF President John Gutierrez, expressed high hopes for the U-17 Filipinas. “We have seen their preparation and we look forward to seeing the team compete,” he said. “The federation is grateful to PWNT Manager Jefferson Cheng and U-17 Head Coach Sinisa Cohadzic and the rest of the coaching and management staff for putting together the best team possible. We hope that Filipina youth players who will watch them will be inspired to strive hard and make it to the team eventually. ”
